Understanding the Army Fitness Test (AFT) Scoring
The U.S. Army Fitness Test (AFT) is the physical readiness assessment program that officially replaced the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) on June 1, 2025. It serves as a gender-neutral, age-normed, or sex-normed physical test designed to assess physical capability.
Scoring Standards and Passing Marks
The AFT measures readiness across 5 distinct physical events. Each event is scored out of a maximum of 100 points, making the highest possible test score 500:
- General MOS Standards: Requires a minimum of **60 points in each event**, for a total test score of at least **300 points**. Scoring tables are normalized for age and sex.
- Combat MOS Standards: Utilizes age-normed but **sex-neutral** standard charts. Soldiers must achieve a minimum of **60 points per event** and a total test score of at least **350 points**.
